About this role
Job Requirement * A recognised Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. * Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably in management, testing, and commissioning of construction projects. Experience in data center projects is an added advantage. * Strong leadership qualities; dynamic, independent, and possessing excellent managerial and technical skills. * Preferably a member of MIEM and a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng). Job Descriptions Primary Responsibilities * Commissioning Planning: Develop and execute commissioning plans, schedules and budgets. * System Testing and Validation: Perform thorough testing and validation of systems, equipment and facilities. * Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during commissioning. * Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, test results, and issues resolved. Technical Responsibilities * System Design Review: Review design specifications, drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements. * Equipment Installation Verification: Verify that equipment is installed correctly and meets design specifications. * System Integration Testing: Perform integration testing to ensure that systems and equipment function correctly together. * Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to ensure that systems and equipment meet design specifications and performance requirements. Safety and Quality Responsibilities * Safety Protocol Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during commissioning activities. * Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance checks to ensure that systems and equipment meet design specifications and quality standards. * Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful commissioning. Collaboration and Communication Responsibilities * Stakeholder Communication: Communicate commissioning plans, schedules, and progress to project stakeholders. * Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project team members, including contractors, vendors and other engineers. * Training and Support: Provide training and support to operations and maintenance personnel on commissioned systems and equipment. Other Responsibilities * Budgeting and Cost Management: Manage commissioning budgets and costs to ensure that projects are completed within budget. * Schedule Management: Develop and manage commissioning schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time. * Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize commissioning processes and procedures.
