Responsibilities: Draft, review, and provide expert advice on agreements, contracts, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws. Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with business transactions, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies. Independently handle a spectrum of legal matters, including day-to-day operational work, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. Address all legal inquiries, offering sound legal advice, analysis, and assistance to resolve complex issues. Manage and foster relationships with external parties, external counsel, regulators, and authorities. Stay abreast of changes and updates to relevant laws and regulations, ensuring our practices align with legal requirements. Develop, review, and implement Compliance policies, procedures, programs, and internal controls to uphold regulatory standards. Regularly review, update, and monitor the effectiveness of Policies and Programs in addressing non-compliance risks. Prepare and present comprehensive compliance reports to the Board. Advise management and staff on regulatory and compliance matters, promoting a culture of awareness and adherence. Requirements: Degree in Law from an established and reputable university. Minimum of 10 years’ working experience in a law firm or corporate legal position. Expertise in any of the following areas of law: construction, litigation, conveyancing, corporate. Proven ability to identify legal issues and deliver workable solutions. Strong analytical and drafting skills with excellent organizational abilities. Committed to meeting deadlines and achieving results. High degree of integrity and confidentiality. Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently. Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach. Preferably Managers specializing in Law/Legal Services or equivalent.
