About this role
Job Responsibilities: * To implement instructions issued by the employer regarding workplace safety and health, aligning with environmental laws, safety regulations, and ISO standards, and reporting non-compliance. * To perform regular site audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments (HIRARC) to implement preventative measures. * To conduct thorough inspections of machinery, equipment, processes, and labor to identify potential hazards and prevent bodily injury. * To organize, develop, and conduct safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks for employees and contractors. * To investigate accidents, near-misses, and occupational diseases to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. * To develop and maintain emergency response plans, including organizing fire drills and safety equipment checks. * To responsible to attend to any emergency situations on ad-hoc basis within company’s premises and acting as point-of contact person representing the company in liaising with the authority. * To prepare all minutes of meetings and reports pertaining to OSH for submission and records purposes. * To maintain detailed records, safety metrics, and reports for management and external auditors. * To collaborate with management and employees to identify opportunities for improving safety practices and reducing workplace hazards. * To promote a positive safety culture by engaging with employees at all levels, encouraging reporting of safety concerns, and recognizing safe work practices. Desired Qualifications: * Must possess a valid Green Book certification issued by the Malaysian Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). * Minimum 10 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the construction industry. * Strong communication skills with the ability to promote a culture of safety.
